Many thanks to those who support the series

The Young Artist Jazz Series, produced by Barbara Brighton, began in spring of 1996 with the goal of providing a forum for local young jazz artists to showcase their talents in front of a live audience, while giving the  community the opportunity to support and enjoy these musicians. The performers are selected mostly from recommendations made by teachers or musicians in mentoring positions. Many current jazz stars performed for the series when they were starting out. Some of these artists include Zane Musa, Anthony Wilson, Josh Nelson, Gerald Clayton, Gretchen Parlato, Donald Vega, Dan Lutz, Sara Gazarek, Kamasi Washington and numerous others. The series has also presented students from the music programs of many of the local High Schools and Colleges.
